Raising Puppies with Purpose
Raising Labrador puppies is a full-time commitment for us, not a hobby or a side project. Our process is one that we have refined and had wonderful success with for over twenty years. Each litter at Greenstone is born and raised in our home, where puppies are immersed in daily family life from day one. We devote the majority of our time to providing attentive, individualized care to both our puppies and adult dogs, ensuring their physical health, emotional well-being, and early development are always our top priorities.
Our puppies are purposefully raised and socialized with future service dogs and working partners in mind, while still being well-suited for family life. From the earliest days, we implement Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and age-appropriate handling to promote resilience, confidence, and stress tolerance. As puppies mature, they are thoughtfully introduced to a wide variety of sights, sounds, surfaces, people, and environments.
We also begin foundational retrieving work early, encouraging natural drive, focus, and problem-solving through positive, low-pressure experiences. This structured, hands-on approach helps develop puppies that are mentally sound, adaptable, and eager to work—providing a strong foundation for success in service work, performance, field, therapy, or other working roles, as well as exceptional lifelong companions.
